Bringing Out the Best in All

Saint James' Primary School is a community based on Christian principles in which adults and children are expected to show:-

  • tolerence, respect, courtesy and consideration for all the other people whatever their age, culture, origin, gender or abilities

  • respect and care for their own and other people's property and the buildings and environment of the school

We believe that children learn best:-

  • when they are confident, happy and secure

  • when they are actively involved in their learning

  • when their achievements and ideas are acknowledged and valued.

We encourage children to:-

  • become self-motivated and independent learners

  • take pride in and a postive attitude to their own work and worth

  • develop their ability to work responsibly with others

  • maximise their strengths and accept support in areas of weakness.

We provide:-

  • a secure and caring enviroment

  • a wide range of interesting and stimulating learning experiences

  • opportunities for children to work both co-operatively and independently

  • suitable resources (within budget limitations)

  • appropriate knowledge for each child

  • acknowledgement of children's achievements

  • a wide variety of learning opportunities
